General information Well developed public transportation network (buses, tramways, and a subway connecting downtown with the southern part of Warsaw) makes moving around the city very easy. A one-day or longer period pass valid for all means of public transportation can be purchased at newspaper stands. The ticket should be activated as soon as you get on board. Please note that the taxi prices vary depending on the taxi company and
location. Close to big hotels, railway stations, the airport, and places
frequented by tourists the taxi price may be up to 100% higher than normal. From the Airport you can reach downtown by public bus 175: get off by
the Central Railway Station (Dworzec Centralny). The currency used in Poland is Polish Zloty (zl). International currency exchange services are offered at most banks and hotels. Travelers cheques can be cashed at most banks. Banking hours are typically 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Credit cards (VISA, American Express, Mastercard, others) are accepted in hotels and most shops and restaurants.
